The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: O’Farrell, Magnusson, Kirkberg, and Chairperson Martin. Absent Peterson.
Moved by Kirkberg, seconded by Magnusson to approve minutes of meeting August 29, 2000. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve temporary full time employment of Scott Sherk at the rate of $7.00 per hour and Orlin Schuttler at the rate of $7.25 per hour, effective September 1, 2000, per recommendation of Webster County Conservation. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Kirkberg to approve and authorize Chair to sign Addendum No. 18, Fiscal Year 2001 Webster County Law Enforcement Center Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Fort Dodge, Iowa. (Copy on file in Auditor’s Office). Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Kirkberg, seconded by Magnusson to approve cancellation of machinery and equipment taxes of Dayton Manufacturing and Company, Parcel #00170-0000165001 as follows: 1996 –$876.00; 1997 - $858.00; 1998 - $810.00; and 1999 – $558.00. Motion carried unanimously.
Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve and authorize Chair to sign Utility Permit Applications for Frontier Communications to plow cable at edge of gravel in Colfax Township, Section 31; Mid American Energy to extend single phase primary overhead electric line approximately 500’ west of 2528 228th Street in Section 3, Pleasant Valley Township; and Webster-Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association for direct buried copper telephone cable in Section 29, Lost Grove Township. (Copies on file in Engineer’s Office). Motion carried unanimously.
Jim Patton, Webster County Agricultural Extension discussed the Des Moines River Watershed Source Inventory. Various agencies are assisting with compiling the data and the mapping inventory will be submitted within a few weeks.
At 10:30a.m. a Public Hearing for first consideration of the adoption of Ordinance Number 031; Ordinance Establishing the Area Service “C” Road Classification in Webster County, Iowa, was held. No objections or comments were heard. Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Kirkberg to approve first consideration and to set September 12, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. as the time and date for second consideration of said Ordinance Number 031. Roll call vote: Ayes – Kirkberg, Magnusson, O’Farrell and Martin. Nays – None. Absent – Peterson. Motion carried unanimously.
