Regular Meeting

July 10, 2001

 

The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: O’Farrell, Magnusson, Condon, Peterson and Chairperson Kirkberg. Absent none.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve minutes of meeting July 3, 2001. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Peterson to receive and place on file Drainage Repair in D.D.#49.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to adopt the following Resolution:

 

RESOLUTION NAMING DEPOSITORIES

 

Resolved, that the Webster County Board of Supervisors of Fort Dodge, Iowa in Webster County, Iowa approves the following list of financial institutions to be depositories of the Webster County funds in conformance with all applicable provisions of Iowa Code Chapters 452 and 453 (1983) by 1984 Iowa Acts., S.F. 2220.  The Webster County Recorder is hereby authorized to deposit the Webster County funds in each of the respective financial institutions as set out below:

Moved by Condon, seconded by Magnusson to approve salary increase to $22,662.29 for Erline Jones, effective July 20, 200, per recommendation of County Recorder.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to receive and place on file Report of Veteran Affairs Commission for period ending June 30, 2001. (Copy on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Peterson to approve Temporary part time employment of Randall Lee Johnson at the rate of $7.00 per hour effective July 6, 2001, per recommendation of Webster County Conservation Board.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to table approval of Five-day Beer Permit Application for Daybreak Rotary Club, Dragon Boat Festival, July 27 through July 29, 2001, until confirmation of Dram Shop Insurance is filed with the County Auditor.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Condon, seconded by Magnusson to approve and authorize Chair to sign Utility Permit Application for Lehigh Valley Cooperative Telephone Association to replace cable on 365th Street and Quail Avenue in Sections 14 and 15 Dayton Township. (Copy on file in Engineer’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Motion by Magnusson, Seconded by O’Farrell to authorize temporary closure of the following Secondary roads for rebuilding road:

 

Jackson Township, Sections 18 & 19, 130th Street between Baxter and

Adams Avenues.

Motion carried unanimously.  

 

At 7:00p.m. a public hearing was held on second consideration to amend Zoning Ordinance 024 to permit public, parochial and private institutions for academic instruction, character training centers, first aid dispensaries, charitable institutions for the treatment of the diseased, and nursing homes in an Agriculture District (A-2) by special exception.  Various residence of Savage Addition voiced their objections and concerns.  Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Magnusson to recess hearing until 7:00p.m. on July 24, 2001 to allow time to look into including in the language of the amendment certified or licensed facilities.  Motion carried unanimously.
