Regular Meeting

August 7, 2001

 

The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: O’Farrell, Magnusson, Condon, Peterson and Chairperson Kirkberg. Absent none.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve minutes of meeting July 31, 2001. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Peterson to approve salary increase for Lisa Burr, MH/DD Case Manager to $31,610.00, effective July 9, 2001, per recommendation of Irene Blair.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to receive and place on file employment status change to full time for Sue Ledford, RN, Public Health Department effective August 6, 2001. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Condon, seconded by Magnusson approve Utility Permit Application  for Tim Anderlik for water line crossing in Section 15, Yell Township.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to adopt the following resolution:

 

RESOLUTION

 

Motion by Magnusson, Seconded by O’Farrell to authorize temporary closure of the following Secondary Road:

 

Johnson Township, Sections 23 & 24, Fairbanks Avenue, between 190th & 200th Streets, Water at Underpass.

Motion carried unanimously.

 

Kay Nerhus discussed overlapping acres in Drainage District No. 247-7 and #4-272.  Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to retain Mer Engineering to review the area in Section 20, Newark Township and report his findings regarding this matter.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Brian Waddingham, Iowa Central Community College Agricultural Instruction Coordinator introduced himself to the Board and reviewed this fall’s program.  No action taken.

 

Randy Lampe, representing PCS and Associates discussed an amended jail study.  The Board agreed to look into shared cost for food and laundry services with the State Prison and the possibility of acquiring approximately three acres of land from Webster County Development. Chairperson Kirkberg will report to PCS to discuss other options.

 

At 1:30p.m. a Classification Hearing on annexation of lands into Drainage District #51 Webster & #291 Calhoun was held.  For further particulars see Drainage Record Book.
