Regular Meeting

August 21, 2001

 

The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: O’Farrell, Magnusson, Condon, Peterson and Chairperson Kirkberg. Absent none.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve minutes of meeting August 14, 2001. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Peterson to receive and place on file the following Drainage Repairs:  D.D.# 5 and D.D. #29.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to approve and authorize Chair to sign Application for Accreditation for Webster County Case Management.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s office). Motion carried unanimously.

 

Sean O’Connor discussed Grant Fund Applications for Rabiner Treatment Center and noted that Iowa Central Industries withdrew their application but would still be responsible for grant writing fees to Midas.  Moved by Condon, seconded by Magnusson to approve and authorize Chair to sign Resolutions to Request Midas Assistance for Grant Writing for Rabiner Treatment Center and Iowa Central Industries and Agreements between Iowa Central Industries and Webster County for Midas Grant Writing Assistance.  (Copies on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve Agreement between Webster and Hamilton Counties for replacement of “Bellville Bridge” Project SBRFM-CO94(42)-5D-94. (Copy on file in Auditor’s Office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Peterson to approve and authorize Chair to sign Utility Permit Application for Prairie Energy Cooperative to install overhead power line at South side of Sections 1, 3, 4, and 5 Washington Township and Section 2 Pleasant Valley Township. (Copies on file in Engineer’s Office). Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to approve and authorize Chair to sign Utility Permit Application Zenia Water in Section 25 and 36 of Gowrie Township and Section 29, 30, 32, 33, 34, 35 and the unincorporated town of Lanyon in Lost Grove Township.(Copies on file in Engineer’s Office). Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Condon, seconded by Magnusson to approve Engineer’s recommendation of grader bids received August 14, 2001, accepting Swaney  bid for new four wheel drive Grader with trade-in for the amount of $125,686; and for new six wheel drive Grader in the amount of $140,160;  and further to accept Mid-Country Machinery’s bid for the used six wheel drive in the amount $31,300 instead of as a trade-in with Swaney’s.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

At1:00p.m. a Completion Hearing was held for Joint Drainage District # 11 Webster & #11.  For further particulars see Drainage Record Book.
