Regular Meeting

October 23, 2001

 

The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: O’Farrell, Magnusson, Condon, Peterson and Chairperson Kirkberg. Absent none.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve minutes of meeting October 16, 2001. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Peterson to receive and place on file the following Drainage Repairs:  D.D.#5 and D.D.#230.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to receive and place on file Recorder’s Report of Fees Collected for the period ending September 30, 2001.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s Office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Condon, seconded by Magnusson to approve and authorize Chair to sign Contract with Haila Engineering for site examination and structural report of the Law Enforcement Building.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s Office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by O’Farrell to approve appointment of the following to the Insurance Committee:  Matt Cosgrove, Erline Jones, Jim Stubbs, Chris O’Brien, Gary Boerner, Judy Cosgrove, Jan Horton, Jan Messerly, Floyd Magnusson, Andy McGill, Tim Schott, Sid Jante and Danny Ferry.  Motion carried unanimously.

 


Moved by O’Farrell, seconded by Peterson to approve and authorize Chair to sign Contract with Becker Gravel Company Inc. for gravel produced at Stumpf Pit.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s Office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to adopt the following resolution:

 

RESOLUTION

 

Motion by Peterson, Seconded by Condon to authorize temporary closure of the following Secondary Road:

 

Elkhorn Township, Section 21-28 from Johnson Avenue, west to Indiana Avenue for bridge abutment.

Motion carried unanimously.

 

John Dencklau reviewed the workmen’s compensation insurance and presented the Board with dividends in the amount of $27,075.71  and stated that these checks represents the ability of Webster County to implement good management of their employees and taking steps to provide a safe working place for Webster County.

 

Moved by Condon, seconded by Magnusson to allow claims.  Motion carried unanimously.
