The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present:Magnusson, Peterson, Condon, Gill, and Nolting.††

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by Condon to approve minutes of January 7, 2003 meeting.Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Condon, seconded by Gill to approve the following salary recommendations of elected officials for fiscal year 2003-2004 as presented by the Webster County Compensation Board.

Moved by Nolting, seconded by Magnusson to approve appointment of Eddie Peterson as Board of Supervisors Representative and James Gill as Alternate to the Fort Dodge Convention and Visitors Bureau for year 2003.Ayes:Magnusson, Condon, Nolting and Peterson.Nays:Gill.Motion carried.

 

Moved by Nolting, seconded by Magnusson to approve bond of Bruce Long, dba Longís Farm Drainage and R and R Well Company, Inc. (Dwayne Rosenquist) for installation or repair of sewer systems.(Copies on file in Auditorís office).Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by Condon to approve contract with New Perspectives, Inc. of Sioux City, Iowa to provide mental health services.(Copy on file in CPCís Office).Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Condon, seconded by Gill to approve and authorize Chair to sign Mid Iowa Safety Alliance (MISA) Resolution designating Tony Jorgensen, Representative and Randall Will, Alternate.Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Gill, seconded by Nolting to approve and authorize Chairman to sign continuation of contract with Becker Gravel Company, Stratford, Iowa to process and stockpile granular material at Airport Pit.(Copy on file in Engineerís Office).Motion carried unanimously.

 

Jim Gertsma updated the Board on the status of the Webster County Soil Survey.The Southwest portion of the County is where they started and during year 2003 they will be working in the southeast portion and along the Des Moines riverbed.

 

The Webster County Library Association requested the same funding level for Fiscal Year 2004 as they are receiving in the current year.No action taken.Request will be considered during budget preparation.

 

John Haila presented study of Law Enforcement Center addressing some current problems.Copy of study is on file in Auditorís office.No action taken.

 

Moved by Nolting, seconded by Magnusson to allow claims.Motion carried unanimously.
