BOARD OF SUPERVISOR’S

Regular Meeting

Tuesday February 24, 2004 - 10:00a.m.

The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: Magnusson, Peterson, Condon, Gill and Nolting.

 

Moved by Gill, seconded by Nolting to approve minutes of February 17, 2004 meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Nolting, seconded by Peterson to approve Secondary Road Fund transfers per fiscal year 2003-2004 budget as follows:  General Basic Fund $117,446.19 and Rural Basic Service $1,056,038.68.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Magnusson to approve and authorize Chair to sign Beer Permit renewal Application for Lakeside Municipal Golf Course.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by Gill to receive and place on file resignation of Scott Gebers, Resource Coordinator (Weed Commissioner) for Webster County Conservation Board, effective February 20, 2004.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Gill, seconded by Nolting to approve salary increase for Erin Frahm, to $19,863.40, effective February 27, 2004, per salary schedule.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Nolting, seconded by Peterson to approve and authorize Chair to sign Water User’s Agreement with Xenia Rural Water District for maintenance facility at 24941 306th Street in Burnside.  (Copy on file in Engineer’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

At 10:30a.m. it was moved by Peterson, seconded by Magnusson to go into closed session in accordance with Chapter 21.5(f) for a  General Relief Appeal Hearing.  Roll call vote: Ayes – Condon, Gill, Nolting, Peterson and Magnusson.  Nays – none.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

At 10:45 a.m. it was moved by Nolting, seconded by Gill to return to open session.  Roll call vote: Ayes – Condon, Gill, Nolting, Peterson and Magnusson.  Nays – none.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

At 10:50a.m. it was moved by Nolting, seconded by Peterson to go into closed session in accordance with Chapter 21.5(f) for a  General Relief Appeal Hearing.  Roll call vote: Ayes – Condon, Gill, Nolting, Peterson and Magnusson.  Nays – none.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

At 10:57a.m. it was moved by Nolting, seconded by Gill to return to open session.  Roll call vote: Ayes – Condon, Gill, Nolting, Peterson and Magnusson.  Nays – none.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Kehl Family addressed the Board regarding a proposed gambling facility in Webster County.  Information was provided. 

 

Jim Gertsma, Soil Scientist updated the Board on the progress of the Soil Survey which is on schedule and approximately fifty percent completed.

 

Moved by Gill, seconded by Nolting to allow claims.  Motion carried unanimously.
