Regular Meeting

May 18, 2004

 

The Board of Supervisor met in Session on the above date with the following members present: Magnusson, Peterson, Condon, Gill and Nolting.

 

Moved by Gill, seconded by Nolting to approve minutes of May 11, 2004 meeting and Special May 12, 2004 meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Nolting, seconded by Peterson to receive and place on file the following Drainage Repairs:  D.D.#242, D.D.#65, and D.D.#172.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Magnusson to receive and place on file retirement of Sara Price, effective May 4, 2004.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by Gill to approve and authorize Chair to sign Transfer Application for Webster County Agricultural Association liquor license on May 23, 2004.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Gill, seconded by Nolting to approve the following bonds for septic tank installation and/or well drilling:  Dayton Farm Drainage, Inc., Mort’s Well Company, and Mike Pearson.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Nolting, seconded by Peterson to approve and authorize Chair to sign utility permit application from Frontier Communications to bury approximately 230 feet of telecommunications cable along the east side of Old Highway 169 in Section 3, T88N, R29W, Elkhorn Township.  (Copy on file in Engineer’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Magnusson to approve and authorize Chair to sign utility permit application from Prairie Energy to bury approximately 1290 feet of electrical transmission cable along the east edge of Brushy Creek road in Section 10, T87N, R27W, Webster Township.  (Copy on file in Engineer’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Magnusson, seconded by Gill to adopt the following resolution:

Motion by Magnusson, Seconded by Gill to authorize temporary closure of the following Secondary Road:

                CLOSED:                Monday, May 3, 2004

                TIME:                     7 a.m. for approximately 1 day

                REASON:               Roadway Culvert Repair

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Magnusson to table until June 1, 2004, approval of the following bids and compromises of taxes of the tax sale certificates as follows and place on agenda for Tuesday May 18, 2004 the finalization of said assignment of tax sale certificates:  PB#90005 Howard L. Larson              $36,015.00, PB#90004 Howard L. Larson          $19,015.00, PB#90006 Doug Zuspann  $25,015.00, PB#90056 Justin Egli              $  3,015.00, and PB#90058 Roger Williams  $25,015.00.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Magnusson to deny assignment of Tax Sale Certificate and compromise of taxes on the following described property: Lots 15 and 16 in County Auditor’s Taxation Plat of Lots One through Eight of Cheney’s subdivision of Government Lots Five and Six and the thirty-three foot road lying adjacent to the North end of said Lots 15 and 16, all in Section 32, Township 89 North, Range 28 West of the Fifth P.M., Webster County, Iowa.  Motion carried unanimously.

 

Moved by Gill, seconded by Nolting to allow claims.  Motion carried unanimously.
