Regular Meeting
Tuesday June 16, 2009

The Board of Supervisors met in Session on the above date with the following members present: Condon, Dencklau, and Motl.  Absent: Singer and Peterson.  

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve minutes of the June 9, 2009 regular meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Motl, seconded by Dencklau to receive and place on file the following Drainage Repairs:  D.D. #69 and D.D. #166. Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to receive and place on file resignation (retirement) of Gary Boerner, Webster County Sanitarian, effective June 30, 2009.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Motl, seconded by Dencklau to receive and place on file employment status change for Angie Halfwassen from a contracted employee to a regular part-time employee, effective July 1, 2009 at $25.00 per hour, 32-hours a week.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to receive and place on file termination of employer of record for Michelle Olson, Webster County Health Department effective June 30, 2009.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Motl, seconded by Dencklau to approve and authorize Chair to sign lease agreement for copier in County Attorney’s office.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve abatement of taxes in the remaining amount of $387.50 associated with property purchased by the City of Callender, located at 401 Thomas Street, November 2007.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Motl, seconded by Dencklau to approve transfers from General Basic Fund in the amount of $32,111.77 and from Rural Services Basic Fund in the amount of $772,007.94 to the Secondary Road Fund per Fiscal Year 2009 Budget.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve bond of Dayton Farm Drainage, Inc. for installation of septic tanks.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Motl, seconded by Dencklau to receive and place on file Manure Management Update Plans for Oak Lane I in Section 4, Dayton Township; Dave Cramer in Section 34, Dayton Township; and Bob and Travis Hicks in Section 31, Gowrie Township.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to receive and place on file Region V Hazard Materials Response Commission Auditor’s Report and Financial Statements for period ending June 30, 2008. (Copy on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Motl, seconded by Dencklau to receive and place on file Webster County Conservation Board’s Recreational Needs Assessment, 2009.  (Copy on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve and authorize Chair to sign permit application from Rick Gerjets, to place dust control suppressant on traveled portion of road along 2030 130th Street, Humboldt, Iowa between Sections 14 and 23, Township 90 North, Range 29 West, Deer Creek Township.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Motl, seconded by Dencklau to approve and authorize Chair to sign agreement with Iowa Department of Transportation to use portions of granular surfaced 370th Street and paved Route D-64 as a temporary detour route until June 30, 2009 during construction of Iowa Highway 175.   (Copy on file in Engineer’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Dencklau, seconded by Motl to approve County Engineer’s recommendation to purchase two tandem axle dump trucks with snow equipment from O’Halloran International Incorporated in conjunction with Hiway Truck Equipment in the amount of $314,768.00.  Motion carried unanimously.

At 11:00a.m. a Completion Hearing  for repairs to Drainage District #219 was held.  For further particulars see Drainage Record Book.
