Board of Supervisiors Meeting
Tuesday August 16, 2011

The Board of Supervisors met in Session on the above date with the following members present:  Dencklau, Singer, Peterson, Condon and Fletcher.   Absent:  None.

Moved by Singer, seconded by Peterson to approve minutes of the August 9, 2011 regular meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to approve Class B Beer Permit Application for Des Moines Skydivers, Inc. (Copy on file in Auditor’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Condon, seconded by Fletcher to approve Class B Native Wine Permit Application for Crystalwood Creations. (Copy on file in Auditor’s office). Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Fletcher, seconded by Singer to approve salary increase for the following Correctional Officers:  Tanner Nowell to $14.17 per hour, effective August 19, 2011, Brian Nellis to $14.45 per hour, effective August 27, 2011, and Shawna Dencklau to $14.45 per hour, effective August 26, 2010, per labor agreement. Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Singer, seconded by Peterson to receive and place on file resignation of Keaton Lunn, Part Time Correctional Officer, effective August 19, 2011.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Peterson, seconded by Condon to approve and authorize County Sheriff to fill Part Time Correctional Officer vacancy in the Jail due to resignation of Keaton Lunn.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Condon, seconded by Fletcher to approve revised Policies and Procedures for Webster County Case Management, per recommendation of Irene Blair, CPC Administrator. (Copy on file in CPC’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Discussed authorization of Matching Funds for the Rural Business Opportunity Grant Application.  Item to return to agenda on August 23, 2011.

Moved by Singer, seconded by Peterson to approve and authorize Chair to permit application from Gary Knopf to construct 12 inch drainage tile across Quail Avenue approximately 1450 feet north of 290th Street between Section 2 and 3, Township 87 North, Range 28 West, Burnside Township. (Copy on file in Engineer’s office).  Motion carried unanimously.

Public Hearing was held on first Consideration of an amendment to Zoning Ordinance 046 and Future Land Use Map in the Comprehensive Plan to rezone property from R-2 to I-1, which includes various parcels in Roelyn and in Section 20, 21, 28, 29 in Township 88 North, Range 30 West of the 5th P.M., Webster County, Iowa.  No written or oral objections were heard; therefore Chairman Dencklau closed the hearing.

Moved by Singer, seconded by Peterson to approve first consideration of an amendment to Zoning Ordinance 046 and Future Land Use Map in the Comprehensive Plan to rezone property from R-2 to I-1, which includes various parcels in Roelyn and in Section 20, 21, 28, 29 in Township 88 North, Range 30 West of the 5th P.M., Webster County, Iowa; further to waive second consideration and set August 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. as the time and date for final consideration of said amendment.  Roll call vote:  Ayes – Dencklau, Singer, Peterson, Condon and Fletcher.  Nays – none.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Condon, seconded by Fletcher to allow claims.  Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Singer, seconded by Peterson to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried unanimously.
